Single line input field - highlight text with mouse not possible right to left

Steps to reproduce this issue:
When I use the mouse to highlight the text in a single line field it´s only possible to select the text by movilng from left to right, not from right to left. I can send a screencast in my first answer.

For the screencast without scripts of couse. I find the bug by testing scripts but the issue is in the WME.

I’ve noticed this too for a while, I thought it was something on my computer. Very frustrating. But since this also exists in production, it should be posted in the prod. bugs forum now. I can’t move it there.

Hello @heetENkoel,

Thank you for the report. I’m trying to work out the preconditions at the moment. It behaves for me the same way as for @jm6087.
There must be something else to it… I also use Chrome and tried with scripts on as well and checked different fields.

Edit: I can reproduce it now for the closure description input field and the event search bar. I will file an internal ticket to look into this issue.

In the meantime, please let me know if you notice the same behavior for other fields.

I am able to reproduce it with map note subjects and MTE names, as well as within scripts reusing the wz-text-input component, so it seems to be reproducible in every single-line field across the entire WME, if that field is a wz-text-input. I couldn’t reproduce it however if the field contains Right to Left content (Hebrew, Arabic).
