I live in the dc area and Express lanes can get very expensive, a trip fromr NoVa to Winchester can be $45 if you take the 3 segments of the express lanes. Is there a way to tell how much time is being saved by taking the express lanes?
You should be able to check the alternate routes screen. One of the routes (usually #2) is typically a toll-free route.
Please select EZPass or EZPassFlex in your Waze settings.
Please go to SETTINGS>NAVIGATION> Add toll/HOV passes> Select EZPASS-VA/MD or EZPASS FLEX as applicableto the one in your vehicle.
You need to have an applicable transponder/app to see the express lanes as a toll road (also don’t have avoid tolls selected). You need EZPassFlex to get the HOV-3+(2+ in Hampton Roads) routes and then select it in the ROUTES section or the toggle when selecting a route.
Note if you have EZPass Flex installed and have avoid tolls selected then it usually shows the Route on the Regular Lanes with the time and then if you select the HOV-3+ toggle (for toll free routing) will show you the time on the Express Lanes. I do this on a daily basis to compare if the cost is worth the time savings.
Hope this helps.
