Cambodia Wazers - Welcome!

Hello everyone.
After a stay last year in Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, I noticed the poverty of the Waze map in these countries.
This is why, following the MegaMapraid3, conducted in Thailand during the month of September 2015, in which I participated, I wish today to form and evolve the community of Cambodia Kingdom.
Large cities are already well represented, such as Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Kampong Chhang or Battambamg but there are still a lot of work to do there (RevCon, U-tunrs, one-way and correct ways to create)
The main work of the community will create the missing lines and roads, to correct the types and names of roads, according to type (Highway, Major, Minor, Ramp, Primary or Streets), to share as much information local to feed our Waze map and share it with users, our “Wazers”.
Wiki Cambodia unfortunately does not exist, as in Vietnam or Laos (asia countries where traffic is on the right), it will create over time.

I encourage all publishers to join us, to be present in this forum, to respect the Waze Spirit community.

The language of this forum is English (French is possible because of the common history with Cambodia)

Hi,

Nice to see you opened the Cambodia’s forum

I hope you’ll have a lot of success with a large community to come.

Congrats

Am from Malaysia & we have plenty of volunteers trying their best to keep Waze’s map updated. Please state what have make you think our map is “poverty”? With example & permalink please.

Hello Kweeheng,
thank you for your reply.
in order to remove any possible confusions, in my post, I made reference to the poverty of the Waze map in the last two mentioned countries, Cambodia and Vietnam, where unfortunately there are very few volunteer editors.
I know that the Malay community is well represented (more than 5000 éditors on the FB Group :o ) since I am part of this Facebook group and it’s a pleasure to see everyone working on the map.
The work done during editing in Thailand (MMR3) was huge, because very few roads were represented, and the flight of the Thai Community is booming now.
I wish the same for the neighboring country where everything remains to be done.
Of course, all publishers are welcome there

Thank you so much for opening this Cambodia forum.

I am Cleomora, developer of iTsumo, a taxi hailing app in Cambodia. I wonder if I could help localization for Cambodia, esp. Khmer guide sound in the meantime. Please advise me how can i help.

Regards,
Cleomora

Hi everyone! I am a new Wazer. Let me introduce myself to the community. My name is Kimneou (Kim), I have been contributing to Google Maps for a few years now and I just learn about Waze Map and I am interested in contributing to Waze too since I still see many missing roads in my city. I have been Wazer for only a few days now and I learn about WME from Waze’s YouTube video. Since I am new, my contribution may not be technically 100% accurate. If you see I make any error, please advise me. I want to make positive contribution to the platform and also improve map of my city Siem Reap.

Welcome Kim

Hello Kim,

Just joined also, how is the community in Cambodia?

MC

Hi MC, welcome to Cambodia community. It is great to have you here. I assume you are based in Phnom Penh? We really need contributor in Phnom Penh as I am based in Siem Reap and Julien, Country Manager is based outside the country. There are not many active contributors for our community at the moment and we really need more contributors to keep the map as updated as we can.

Hello Kim,

Yes I am based in Phnom Penh and for work will travel to Vietnam Border in Bavet and Thai Border in Pailin, will do all I can for the area I visit, trying to fill in as much as possible.

MC

Hi MC, In Phnom Penh we still have many roads with unknown name. If you can focus on adding correct names, it is great. Also look at turn restriction. Adding gas station is also helpful.

Hi everyone,
we’re all wazers here
Don’t hesitate to post here and introduce yourselves.

Hello - shall we organize a local meetup where the community can hang out and get to know one another and collaborate together?
Love to be part of the community both online and offline.
