Bridge of Dee, Aberdeen

There have been three reports about wrong lane guidance when travelling north on the A92 at the Bridge of Dee roundabout, Aberdeen.

I’ve taken a look, but can’t see anything obviously wrong. I’d welcome a second pair of eyes.

Thanks,

First UR

Hi, the sat nav tells you to go into the right hand lane to take the second exit of the roundabout but you need to be in the left lane as per the road markings. Thanks.

Second UR

Left lane is for second exit, not right lane. Right lane is for three or more exits on bridge of Dee roundabout when heading north

Third UR

Yes, Waze instructed me to use right lane for second exit across bridge of Dee. It should half told me to use left lane. Thanks

The lanes are mapped incorrectly from this approach, they will need re-doing in the correct order.

Thanks @tbrks. There’s something funny with the far turn arrows; I don’t know whether it’s significant? :

  1. First exit, B9077 - Leggart Ter — Waze shows a left turn, so this is fine.

  2. Second exit, A92 - Bridge Of Dee — Waze shows a right turn?

  3. Third exit, B9077 - Great Southern Rd — Waze shows a left turn. Maybe OK.

  4. Fourth exit, A92 (S) - Stonehaven Rd — Waze shows a “straight” arrow?

If you are using Junction Box Utils script, you may want to disable the ‘Infer turn arrows for roundabout’ setting off since it will try to guess the arrow based on the angles in the roundabout.

You should override these manually for this roundabout as follows to match the road markings:

It’s looking a lot better now, thanks!
